Q What is online dental education and how long has it been around?
A
The Global Institute premiered this technology to the dental community in September 2003 with a 90 minute LIVE lecture to dental professionals in the USA, UK, and Sweden, which included an additional 30 minute interactive question and answer period by phone and chat format. This was followed in November 2003 with a 30 minute 1-on-1 case consultation with a dentist from the Netherlands. At present, 1000s of dental professionals worldwide experience live and lecture-on-demand online lectures. Today, we offer Live online education in lecture, study club and case consultation format by our international faculty.


Q What kind of online dental education do you provide?
A
The Global institute provides training through:

1) DVDs of live operations with dental implant procedures with full narration in several languages,
2) Live online lectures (WebLIVE! lectures)
3) Recorded online lectures (WebLIVE! Lecture-On-Demand) The DVDs are videos viewable on any recorder or computer. You order them and they're sent to you in the mail. The online lectures are delivered via the internet and accessed through a unique Link we provide once you have registered for a lecture or series of lectures. Each live lecture is presented at a scheduled day and time. After the Live lecture, registered attendees receive a complimentary Link to the recording of that lecture for a period of 30 consecutive days.

Lectures-On-Demand are available for all previously live lectures.
Lectures-On-Demand are available to registered users for a period of 30 consecutive days via a Link you receive from the Global Institute.


Q How do I see a WebLIVE! Lecture?
A
After a secure credit card transaction, you will receive a confirmation for registering to the WebLIVE! Lecture of your choice.
WebLIVE! Lectures are delivered via the internet. Within 24 hours prior to the scheduled time of a lecture, you will receive an e-mail message with the Link and Password necessary to participate.

Q What if I register for a Live online lecture but am unable to participate on the day and time of the event?
A
Everyone who registers for a Live lecture will also be able to see the recording of that lecture. A Link is automatically sent to each registered party which allows viewing of the lecture for a period of 30 days.

Q What if I am disconnected during a LIVE WebLIVE! lecture?
A
If you are in the middle of viewing a lecture and you get disconnected, you will need to log back in. You will need to re-enter your passwords and links.

Q What is a Lecture-On-Demand viewing?
A
All live sessions (including the following Q&A sessions) are recorded exactly as given. This allows for viewing the lecture at a time that is convenient for you, using the unique user ID and password you'll receive upon registration. To view Lectures-On-Demand, You will need your computer, a highspeed connection to the internet, and computer speakers or headphones. The only difference between Lectures-on-demand and live sessions is that you are not able to participate in the live Q&As.

Lectures-On-Demand are available for viewing for 30 consecutive days, 24
hours/7 days a week.

Q Is there a time-limit for viewing the Lectures-On-Demand?
A

Q What sort of computer do I need in order to see a WebLIVE! lecture?
A Most commercially manufactured Windows or Macintish computers built within the last two years, using the most current system software will work. For best results, we recommend a Windows computer with 512MB RAM or more, running Windows XP. Also needed, is a pair of computer headphones or speakers, a sound-card (built-in to most computers), and a high-speed internet connection, such as dsl, cable, adsl, or T1. System testing is available through our tech support.

Q What if I need help getting set up?
A You'll probably be surprised by how easy this is. We also have a tech support team ready and available to work with you if you need help or have any questions.

Q Who should I contact if I have a technical problem or question?

Q Can I download a WebLIVE! Lecture to my computer?
A WebLIVE! Lectures are streaming in nature so they are not downloaded.
But you have the same ability to move ahead and back through the lecture and to pause and begin again while viewing the recording.

Q How can I view a list of the courses that I have previously registered for?
A Once you log in, click on "My Courses" to view any previous courses you have registered for.

Q Are your WebLIVE! Lectures interactive?
A Yes. Even though our courses are delivered via the internet, the presenter can be asked real-time questions by audience members and can respond to the questions via the internet phone feature or via chat.

Q How do I obtain a Certificate for a course I take online?
A To earn a certificate, registered attendees must pass the final exam.
Once you have viewed all the lectures, you request the exam. Upon successful completion, you are issued a Certificate.

Q What are the rules regarding registration to a WebLIVE! lecture?
A Every registration receives a unique USER ID and password which allows
1 (one) doctor to view the WebLIVE! lecture on his/her computer. To register to view the lecture with more doctors or in group format please contact the Global Institute office directly.

Q If I live outside of the United States can I view your courses?
A Yes, this is a virtual classroom without walls or borders. We have many international members. The dental licensing boards of numerous countries accept our courses. Students are advised to contact their local dental licensing boards prior to taking any course for which they intend to obtain continuing education credit approval for.

Q Is my credit card information secure?
A Yes. All transactions are processed by Authorize.Net secure servers utilizing state-of-the-art encryption technology. Global Institute does not retain a record of your credit card number.
